I was sitting in my car in front of a store. As I’m sitting there checking my phone I looked up and my ex came up to my window and asked if I’d give him a ride to this new church in town. I asked him why he needed a ride and why couldn’t he just walk there because it was at the bottom of the hill that this store was on. It was a big hill but you could still walk down it and across the street to get to this place. I eventually relented and told him to get in. I turn around to follow the road down and around this hill. The church was in someone’s house or what appeared to have been someone’s house at one point and had a sign that said “New Horizons Church”. I was a bit thrown off but figured it was fine because it’s not uncommon for people to worship in houses. My ex tells me come on or we’ll be late so we rush in. The place was just an emptied out living room and kitchen to make one long room with pews. The whole time I can barely hear what the lady preaching was saying over a few people screaming “praise the lord” “amen” and “yes Lord.” I noticed one woman in particular had on a black dress and veil like you’d were at a funeral. The whole time I couldn’t shake the feeling that these people were uptight and that there was just something wrong with me or us being there.
