First (And Hopefully Last) Teeth-Falling-Out Dream

Prior to falling asleep, I had eaten some crab sticks that I thought to be pretty good. They were past the sell by date though, so my mom worried they’d be bad. I guess that had something to do with my dream. In the dream, I had eaten something that was also supposedly past it’s expiration date and was thus a bad idea to eat. I ate it anyway, saying I’d be fine. I started to feel all ill and panicky, grasping at my stomach as I finished off the last crunchy bites of whatever I was eating. My mouth felt weird. My teeth felt lose like they were going to fall out if I kept eating. I scrambled to the bathroom in my panic, haunched over the sink. And that’s when it started, one of my teeth fell out. The roots looked oddly sharp, and that tooth itself was oddly small. It looked more like a child’s tooth than am adult’s tooth. My eyes stared in horror at the tooth near the drain. I picked it up and put it on the bathroom counter, wanting to preserve it in case it could be put back. I clenched my jaw, hoping that would secure them, but it seemingly made them more lose feeling. More started to fall out, all of them. And immediately after one fell out, a new one would re-emerge from my gums, but they were pointy, like shark teeth but a bit more blunt, and felt gravel-y to my tongue. They sounded like they were being crunched on when I gritted my teeth more to try and keep them in. They just kept falling out. At this point, I was bawling, ugly crying as the teeth started to fill up the sink. I had so sit there, watching as they continued to fall out for many minutes more. Slowly, they came to a stop. I don’t remember if they grew back to normal, or if I was completely toothless, but I was still horrified. Somehow I jolted myself awake and immediately cringed, but I couldn’t help but imagine the ending to this dream being like the food I ate was so bad that it caused me such bad hallucinations. Reminds me of the drug trips portrayed by the animations created by artists to Glass Animals’ song Pork Soda.
