(This takes place in the middle of an all-night personal prayer time. As I'm praying and reading 2 Corinthians, I read chapter 9 and pray that I would carry the same characteristics of these disciples. I close my eyes to pray and I see the below vision...) πIβm standing on a narrow walkway in an underground subway, with shiny subway trains on my left and on my right speeding continuously past me and into the dark tunnels, seemingly without end. I see a narrow metal stair case ahead of me going up (the opposite direction of the trains). I walk towards it and begin to climb up the narrow and unattractive stairs. End Vision At first this seemed completely random. Unsure of what it might mean, I pray and ask God for understanding. After pondering on it for a min, I receive revelation regarding what I just saw... Revelation: @ The large, shiny, fast underground subway trains are headed straight for hell... - They hold lots of people (big and seemingly neverending train/those on the wide road are going to hell, Christ is the only way, nothing and no one else leads to God or heaven) - It's an easy and fast ride (passengers just sit and do nothing as they move with speed/people going with the flow, living in sin, following the world, being complacent, lukewarm) - Attractive (shiny, easy, fast/indulgence in pleasurable sin, feel good look good deception) @ Narrow metal stairs represent the narrow road to heaven - It's less attractive (old rusty steep narrow metal stairs) - It goes against the flow (opposite direction of the trains/following Christ as He went against the grain vs. following the flow of the world) - It's harder (Steep, it takes work to climb stairs rather than sit back in a train and it moves you/you have to fight to continue following and serving God vs. becoming stale and backsliding when you stop fighting and pushing) - It's narrow (not many will choose it as it is small and particular/the narrow road to heaven, Christ being the way the truth and light, no one can come to God except through Him) - Stairs go up out of the ground vs. trains stay underground (stairs leading out of sin and into His glorious light vs. remaining in sin, heading towards death and hell) *Understanding* - If you want to follow Christ into the light, into a new life and into eternity... You will be choosing the harder path, not a life of luxury. You will be different, you will seem crazy at times, you will stand out. We are called to work, not to sit back and breeze through life. There is work to be done on the way to Heaven, it's a fight to continue climbing. If you want to choose to sit back and enjoy life and indulge in your pleasurable sins and complacency... Not feeling the need to do anything for God in return for saving you, Christianity is not for you. Although you will enjoy some early rewards for serving God, the majority of your rewards are being stored up in heaven. The life of a Christian is a life of losing, suffering, sacrificing, and dying in more ways than one. Only when you fully understand and accept this, choosing to continue in doing His work on Earth by winning souls and making disciples, will He reward you in heaven and on Earth as any good master pays His workers their due for their work. π₯Read 2 Corinthians 6 ###Be warned, but be encouraged. ~Although the way is hard and narrow, it leads to life everlasting... ~Whilst living the seld-indulgent, self-centered life apart from God ultimately leads many to death and eternal suffering...
