My brother and I were in the cafeteria kitchen making matzo ball soup. As we stood over our pots, stirring occasionally, we chatted and filled each other in on our lives. At some point I realized I was late for my philosophy class, so I said goodbye and rushed across campus. As I made my way to my class, the scene began to transform. I wasn’t just at my school anymore, it was more of a blend between the familiar campus and Disneyland. My philosophy class was being held through a door beneath one of the rides. As I listened to my professor’s lecture, it was difficult to tune out the rattling of the roller coaster tracks overhead.
