Reunion

I'm at a reunion at the Academy (or maybe an alternate universe and back in time when I'm still at the Academy because we stay in the Hall). Some of us are still in, some civilians. I have my uniform on again, first time in a long time. Maida says, "I like the scruffiness!" and touches my face. I've forgotten to shave. "Oh yeah," I say. "I always dream that I forget to shave when I get back in uniform." Now it's actually happening, I think. We're at a 6th company reunion. Paul Schaupner announces that he wants to officially leave the company. And he used to be company commander. It's really moot since we've all graduated. More like a ceremonial "F you" to everyone. He gives a speech explaining why. Some publicity stunt. We find out Cabbage is getting kicked out and we're all sad because we loved him and he had a great future planned. (IRL he graduated with me years ago.)
