Old friend

Date: 5/3/2020

I had a dream that my mom, my sister and I were at my sisters old high school. That’s where all my middle school friends went. And they went ahead and walked somewhere else and I was walking alone. Idk what we were doing there, I think we were getting food/snacks for the movie we were supposed to see. I remember being in this little corner store. And I was looking for a drink. And when I went to look in the freezers for a drink all the juices were half full. And one of the bottles was spewing out the drink. I tried to move that one, but once I moved it started to spray out of the fridge and at me. The more I moved it the worse I got. And I remember looking over my shoulder at the guy who worked there and he was staring at me. And I then proceeded to close the door, but I stopped midway and decided to take the bottle out and give it to him. Then this lady named Kida, who also worked there, thanked me and gave me a bottle of pills but they looked like tic tacs. I put them in my back pocket. I was still looking for a drink. And I seen a full one at the front of the register it was a brisk watermelon drink. And I picked it up. And this white lady and her son were trying to get that one too and it was the only one left. And she tried to take it from me because I was black. And I remember scrunching my face up in disgust and saying no. So the 16 year old son, picks up a half full fruit punch and a half full blue raspberry drink. And they both walk away. I’m then behind a guy at the register waiting to be checked out. And Kida proceeds to drop a 5 dollar bill in front of him and said “youre good to go.” He took the five and put it in his pocket. But something was wrong and so he went behind the register and was trying to fix his money using the cash register. Kida didn’t mind it and focused on me. I started to pull out my debit card, but Kida throws a bunch of money in front of me and I hesitate. She starts talking to the guy at the cash register and I interrupt asking “I can take this?” She’s like yeah! But I guess she realized she gave me WAYYY too much money. So she gave me a five and I put it in my pocket and walked away. Saying “thank you miss Kida”. And I hear I guy tell her as I walk out the door, “what a beautiful name.” Then somehow I make it to a house. And an old friend of mine and his sister are outside in the garden doing something. I walk up to them and say hey! I hug and say hi to the sister, Amanda, first and then to my old friend, Derek. It was awkward saying hi to him since we haven’t talked in a long time. But we both smiled and hugged each other. It was the best hug I ever got! I rubbed his head and said “you cut your hair. It looks good. But I really liked the long curly hair too!” He laughed and said “maybe I’ll grow it out again.” And we then started walking inside the house. His hand still wrapped around my waist and me clinging to him. We walked in and greeted our parents and my sister and then we walked past them and into this room with our two “dads”. (They were both white and Derek and I’s fathers irl are black. So maybe step fathers?) But we both sit down and my dog Angel is sitting with us. And we all just stare at one another for a bit. I start the conversation and from there the conversation comes from Dereks “dad” asking about who he will be dating? That Rebecca (Derek’s girlfriend) has no future and is stupid. Even tho me and Derek JUST saw each other again for the first time in years, we are already being considering dating. And then I woke up. THE END.
