Nicole’s Birthday Bash

For Nicole’s birthday, she put together a huge show to celebrate her life so far. They rented out a stage and everyone who was invited sat in the audience. The stage was decorated with giant games about Nicole’s interests; one of them was an Impractical Jokers trivia game and another was giant connect four. All of Nicole’s family and close friends had a role in the show: Blake was the security guard and the tech guy, Mercedes from Glee did sign language, and the rest of us helped set everything up. The show started with a slideshow of pictures of her, and everyone took turns presenting a different slide. First Renee went, then their mom, then Aunt Buggy. (When Aunt Buggy was presenting, Mercedes didn’t know how to translate what she was saying into sign language, so she started making stuff up.) Next it was my turn, but no one had ever told me when I was supposed to go. In that moment, I remembered Nicole sent me a picture of her and her mom a few weeks ago, but she never told me that it was for me to present. I frantically looked for the picture in my phone, but I couldn’t find it. Blake came over to find out what the issue was because there was such a long and awkward pause since the last slide. I was really scared that Nicole was going to kill me for screwing the show up, but she was surprisingly calm. They eventually found the picture, but I also had no idea what to say about it.
