Lost in Tokyo

I dreamt I was on a class trip with a bunch of people. I remember Janiece, Yvette, and Derek but there were several others and a chaperone I don’t really remember. We were traveling the world and had just been in Paris. I remember snippets where we would be chatting excitedly about our travels, and Derek would like hug me and grasp my shoulders. Not quite romantic but hinting at it. Now we were in Tokyo in a large mall. It looked like an American mall but super Japanese style, including paper lanterns and lacquered looking walls and railings. We were just doing some window shopping. I followed Yvette around into some boutiques where a woman began showing us everything. The woman looked just like my old Israeli roommate, not Asian at all. The store was all strings of jewels in crazy patterns, some as small as bracelets and others so long they hung down from the ceiling. The jewels sparkled mostly pale whites, pinks, blues, etc, soft pastel colors. I didn’t intend on buying everything and felt guilty the shop lady was putting on a show for us. I left the place mostly out of anxiety and was daunted by the fact that every single boutique seemed to be of fancy jeweled or embroidered Japanese stuff. Derek approached me and said “don’t worry” and told me he had something to show me. Then he just walked off without me. I kind of followed but when I realized he didn’t even care whether or not I was with him, I got kind of miffed about it and went off by myself. I zoomed around the second floor of the mall. The walkway was just like in any American mall where you can see the entirety of it at the railings. My shoes were like ice skates and I just slid everywhere. There were only a few other people at the mall, all Japanese, just hanging out. I found myself in a dojo. The floor was tatami mats and the walls had painted scrolls. I looked around and saw sumo wrestlers sitting cross legged up on a platform, eating from bowls. I immediately felt like I was intruding and tried to leave. The door I went though led to a bath house area of the sumo stable. I panicked and turned back around and saw the sumo getting up because of my intrusion. I yelled “sumemasen!” And did a bow, and tried to run through a different door which still only went into the private areas of the stable. I made it out eventually, somehow, and found Derek outside of another shop. I was feeling super flustered and just wanted to find our chaperone, but Derek turned out to be also lost. And I don’t remember anything else after that.
