He loves me, he loves me not

My life-long crush unexpectedly broke up with his girlfriend of 2 years and asked me to be his girlfriend. I didn’t want to pass up this chance so I said “yes”immediately. However, I am currently in a relationship. I wasn’t sure how serious my crush was until he updated his relationship status on Facebook and tagged me in it. I panicked, knowing that my boyfriend and his friends would be able to see this. I called my mom, begging for advice. My crush’s mom had already told her about our new “relationship”. I panicked and tried to call other people. I had to make a choice immediately on who I wanted to be with. I could take a chance on my crush, knowing we wouldn’t work out in the long run. Or I could stay faithful to my boyfriend and pass up this opportunity, knowing my boyfriend and I haven’t been on fantastic terms lately. But either way I didn’t want the man I dumped to know why. So I had to do it quickly before they figured out that my decision was because of another man. I didn’t want to break up with my boyfriend because he has always been loyal to me, but I didn’t want to pass up this chance with my crush either. I felt trapped.
