Latin Lesson

I was on a school bus going to a field trip with my science class. Outside the windows, there is a ton of wheat fields. My science teacher asks the whole class what the wheat is trying to say. Then he says something in Latin. This girl in my science class is like, "oh, it's something about eating" and the teacher got so mad. He was like, "something like! You guys should all know Latin!" And I was so confused. Like, did I miss a required Latin class or something? It was a strange dream especially sense my science teacher is so laid back.
