A pool (above ground/round) in the front yard at dads (home I grew up in). Brown, dirty water. At least 10 people swimming. Then there was a storm. Dad told us we needed to get out of the pool as quickly a possible. We tried once & the crashing waves spun us around. After that dad & I made sure everyone was safe (gripping tightly to the ladder rail & holding on to everyone before it spun us out of control again). Then I told each person when to dive in to get to the other side & out safely. Carefully bypassing the largest waves. I was 2nd to last to go. When it was my turn the waves calmed & I could almost doggy paddle across (everyone else had to dive). After all was said & done I had an epiphany. We could have all hopped out the side of the pool instead of having to swim across in the storm. Sometimes we choose a dark path when peace is so much closer than we realize. But within the storm I'm a leader & protector of those around me. The real question is, how do I survive the storm when I feel all alone?
