Leaving the University to go to work with Ernest and his friend. We have to pick up some equipment including a hinged, white wooden box, 5x2x1. Opened, it is full of lighted dials and knows. We inspect the contents like we know what to look for. Reversing down the lane until another car enters, then pulling a U-ie. But somehow we have left the car behind to travel on foot. Stupid idea because we will be late for work, plus there are witches blasting things at our stomachs. Looking for Road 16 but I remember that the start is hard to find amongst the 5 Corners coming out of the woods at the edge of town. I am checking the street signs. "We are walking in the right direction," I announce, but Ernest is getting worried. "We could go back for the car?" I offer. Back inside the University, I suggest we take a cab to the car. We can still get to work on time. I ask a tech in a secluded hallway for directions to a busier space, one where a cab could find us. She is very offended. We keep walking through the maze of hallways until I can no longer find Ernest, nor his friend. I try to phone him, but I can't recall his name. George? I scan through my recent calls to see if I can find him.
