jazz rehearsal

i went back to school but i for some reason had a jazz band rehearsal before our concertt. i quickly droce hone and started got my concert clothes and music. back in the band room we started playing. i was a little nervous bc i legit did not practice any song. the first song was a typical swing blues piece and i was the last soloist. i think we were ok but the teacher kept on stopping us and correcting tiny mistakes. in the middle of the piece though there was this really avant garde part with literally just text boxes with english phrases and i was trying to play the literal words but struggled when i couldnt for example the letter h or any letter not a through g. she and the drummer ended up discussing something so i took the time to look at the other pieces. one was a choral hymn written by one of the students which was so random and there was also a latin bossa piece. sightreading on day of concert is so true
