Earlier on I believe it was just living at college. I think there was a giant library kind of in the student union building. Interestingly, I went to my hometown library yesterday for the first time since getting back home. So the start was just tame mundane life. I recall trying to come back and do something but the library may have been closing so I couldn't (also from real events in the past week elsewhere). Eventually, the zombie apocalypse happened... The funny thing is, I'm not even sure if I saw it this time. I just could them. I was with some other family at my house's kitchen, which faces the backyard. It was dark outside. It was implied my family had gone elsewhere and I wanted to go find them, but outside was not safe. I started eating this pre-made pasta from a bag. Surprisingly, it was creamy and good. At on point, the zombie noises stopped. We decided we would stay here the night. The parent/leader said we should close all of the doors. This person changes into and becomes or is my dad even though it was assumed my family was elsewhere. It's like a role swap occurred at one point. I went to the front of the house and was happy and surprised to find it empty and clean. I looked upstairs but didn't want to go up there. Someone else went up to close all the bedroom doors. Also there is now my half eaten bag of pasta on the table as well as this open giant granola bar thing. I watched out the back sliding door. There was the black shape swaying on a tree that has fallen down mostly parallel to the ground. I watch it a little before it moves and swings down. It starts lumbering up towards me. I check and make sure the door is locked. As it approaches I notice, 'crap, the door isn't even closed.' I struggle to pull it closed as this chimpanzee/ape gets to the door. I manage to do it, but then it tugs on the door. In order to stop it from coming in, I need to pinch my hand between the handle and this side lip next to the door in order to keep it shut. The lock doesn't seem to work at all, when I let go, the lock just plinks up and off. Then I scramble back on the door to make sure it stays closed. The ape gives up at one point and walks to my right, going to band on the side glass that protrudes out from the room (this part is not in my actual house). As soon as I let go of the door it decides not to do that and jumps back towards the door, opening it many inches before I get a grip back on it. I yell for my dad behind me. I think he tells me to stop and let it in, that's what I do. I slowly walk backwards, it follows me. Then I trip or maybe purposefully fall down and tuck my feet in to kick up at the ape. I think I do, then it hits me slightly. Next it just turns and leaves. I ask my dad, how did he know it wouldn't hurt us? The dream ends around here after maybe I close the door.
