Forest and Canyon

The sun was annoyingly bright in this dream, and I was standing alone in this old basketball court where the green floor was faded and cracked. There was a ball stuck in the hoop which looked grimy and misshapen. There was a large sandy hill north of the court, and it was rocky and yellow. I walked across the court and climbed up the hill to see signs pointing in all directions. One sign read: "North - Exit - 5 miles", and I wanted to head for the exit out of this place, so I went further up the hill and north. Soon enough, I found myself walking on a carpet of soft moss and dark green shrubbery. The path eventually grew steeper and steeper like a mountain, so I began to climb with my hands and feet. At one point there was a tranquil pond in the forest with fish playing around and tiny birds chirping from the tall, shady trees looming above. I leaned closer to peer into the pond. The sunlight danced off the water, making it seem as if there was treasure in the deep pool, and a bunch of goldfish swam around and underneath lotus flowers. At the very bottom, I could see a pile of gold! But before I could do anything, a giant purple fish swallowed my hand and yanked me into the water.
