The Race of Love

It all began at a college I was attending. I was with my go to best friends named Garrett and Katie. I had the biggest crush on Garrett and we'd do everything together. One day, Katie hosted a party and invited everyone. It was kind of awkward for me since Garrett was kind of popular with tons of chicks. Every moment he was alone, this girl named Juliet would hang all over him and it bothered me. She pulled me to the side and told me that he'd never be mine so I should back off. I felt very upset so I told Katie I was leaving and went home. The next day, everyone was going to walk to class together. OF COURSE, Garrett invited Juliet to come with us. He had his arm wrapped around her shoulders and it made me think they were together. This boy named Fernandez walks up to me and wraps his arm around my waist, I did not even know him. He called me "Mami" and "Baby", not going to lie it made me laugh but awkwardly. After class, I met back up with Fernandez at the park. Garrett didn't come with me because he was too busy with Juliet, that sucked. Fernandez told me that we could be together and that he liked me ever since he first saw me. I thought that was sweet so I should get to know him. We talked on the swings for hours and finally, he got up and leaned in for a kiss. It didn't happen because his other guy friends came up and asked what he was doing. He said that I had an eyelash on my cheek, of course they believed him. I was very confused. I asked him, "What do you mean? You were going to kiss me!"His friends laughed and said he had a girlfriend. I felt betrayed so I told him, "Forget this, I am nobody's side piece." I went back to my room and cried because I'm a crybaby. I heard a knock at the door and it was Garrett. He brought me a cake and asked to come him. I didn't want to see him either at the moment. He said, "I'll explain everything, let me in." I sighed and unlocked the door, he came in and so did Katie. I thought it was just us... It's okay. He hesitantly states, "I am in a relationship with Juliet and I don't want you to be hurt, Katie told me how you've felt about me for a while. I feel really awful for not noticing. I really like h--" I cut him off immediately. I didn't want his pity so I asked him to leave, he refused. I had no other choice and went across the room, pulling the fire alarm. It went off and I tried to turn it off after it was just a mistake. I sighed and ran to the stairs. They weren't letting people with wheelchairs or crutches down yet because the elevators were broken. I felt really bad so I ran to this boy who was in a wheelchair. I told him, "Hey... Excuse me? I just wanted to let you know that you should let someone put you on the ground and take your wheelchair to the bottom, then let them carry you downstairs. It'll be easier!" He looks at me weirdly and says, "Okay... thanks?" I felt awkward. His friend laughed and made fun of me, the boy I was talking to also laughed at me. It hurt so I took off down the stairs, I didn't care anymore. Somehow, I didn't make it in time and the people want a race. It was me and four other guys, no girls. They probably expected less from me but I was going to win. The race began and it was super weird, as if I was in GTA V. Later on, I got to third place. I was at the end and this poor dude (a close friend of the guy in second) almost made it but hit something. I was in the finale and I could hear people cheering, it was scary. We raced and raced for a good while but it seems both of us couldn't find the end. Luckily, I did and crossed the finish line before him. I got out and saw Garrett giving Juliet a kiss on the lips. I couldn't be with him anymore. I heard a girl named Ally say, "Can you believe Fernandez broke up with Becka?" I believe he did it for me. Fernandez ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug. I felt happy, screw Garrett. I kissed him passionately and for some reason, Garrett seemed hurt? It's not my problem anymore. The race ended and I got my tuition paid off! It was the best.
