I ran into my ex-roommate who I can't stand. She was strangely nice to me. She acknowledged that she had a lot more privilege than me because her family had more wealth, were more present in her childhood, and sent her to better schools. She said I turned out really gifted and smart despite my crappy parents raising me. I was somewhat surprised she said this but agreed with her.
