Cleaning and singing. My two favorite things. Here's a backstory, I can sing really well but I can't talk as good. I like to dance and clean, so I work at a dance hall. There were rooms not many people went. Then there were places like bedrooms for the employees. I had a bed and the manager woke us up saying Merry Christmas and gives everyone an MP3 player and headphones. I got the song Pompeii on it and would sing it everywhere I went. After work everyone went to the back room "bedrooms" and we hung out until we absolutely had to leave. So there was a wedding coming up and I was planning it with people. It's almost the day of the wedding. πΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊπΊ I was mopping the huge hall alone. It was dark except for a sky light and it showed the moon. In this part of the island, food and restaurants are common and a pink/purple smoke comes from the coals they use and so at night the world is purple. I sang Pompeii. I cried. I wanted people to hear me. No one was around. So I finish and go to bed. The day of the wedding is upon us. I got ready in a pretty pink dress. It wasn't long. It reached my knees. It was white on my upper half. I watched the bride come down the aisle. It was a blur. I only remembered that and suddenly everyone was gone and I was back in the ballroom alone. Still wearing my dress I mopped every inch of the ballroom. Then someone was there. It was my manager. She told me to leave. I couldn't leave, where would I live? Where would I sleep and find comfort? I had to leave. I sat outside alone in with the purple sky above me. The song Pompeii played on my MP3 player. I cried again. So then I get back to work and they have a drag show. Some queen came up to me and asked if I could go around back and get a knife for a cake because there was a birthday. I went in the part of the ballroom that I wasn't allowed to get a knife. There was a girl coworker who saw me go in there and she reported me. I was fired. π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄π΄ I left the place with a backpack filled with blankets and a picture I took with me everywhere. It was my family. They disowned me because of my talking set-back. I forgave them. They didn't deserve the hate that should have brought me to suicide harm them. I didn't want that for them either. I walked down the street. I smelled deserts and fruit. The sky was a vibrant, bold lilac's dream. I heard someone singing. It was a girl my age. She was singing Pompeii. I followed the noise. It was Iris. She was laying in the grass and a Haylie lay on top of her. She was singing to Haylie. Then Haylie started laugh happy crying. They hugged and fell asleep. I lay down for sleep further down the street. My pack was at the edge of the road. The sky beamed of purple. When my head touched the grass with the song Pompeii on my tongue... I woke up. ππππππππππππππ ππππππππππππππ
