Impromptu balancing act (that was somehow successful)

I went on a nature hike with my mom and brother. It started off relatively normal, but then of course things had to get weird. We approached the end of a tall piece of land we were walking on. In front of the edge was a huge body of water about 30 feet below, and there was land on the other side. The only way to get across was this long, thick, cylindrical piece of wood that acted as a bridge. There was a huge crowd- an audience oh the other side. I realized we stumbled upon a show of some kind. The “host” (I guess) told us we had to climb the wood cylinder. I assumed a wouldn’t make it and would fall. My brother went first and he climbed across with ease. Others were impressed at how quick and seamlessly he moved. Then it was my mom’s turn. She failed, though, and I watched her fall into the water and swim. I heard someone say that the water was at least 100 feet deep, which scared me even more. Then it was my turn. I slowly approached the wood and put my body weight on it. The whole time I thought to myself “I’m gonna fall”. But I didn’t. Somehow I managed to stay on. The wood was at an angle so I just wrapped my legs and arms around it and slid across. Apparently, I broke the record for youngest female to make it to the other side. At least I heard rumors that I did.
