Okay, so a few things. First, I’ve definitely been very interested and “practicing” ways to try to delve deeper into my subconscious and one of those ways is trying to induce lucid dreaming. Second, I’m not currently working at the time after closing my seasonal business, so naps during the day are common. I’m a night owl, so most of the time, I fall asleep late and wake up early, getting 6-7 average hrs of sleep a night. I find I ALWAYS sleep deeper and quicker in the afternoon. It’s almost as if I can feel my mind coming up with scenarios as I’m falling asleep, and it’s like I hit a dream state minutes after falling asleep. Sometimes, I have a dream and wake up only to find I was sleeping for 15-20 minutes! (Only in the afternoon- never at night time.) Not sure what that’s about. Anyway, during today’s “nap time” my heart was racing really fast. I knew I needed to, and could feel myself falling asleep. I found myself dreaming about walking into my father’s restaurant kitchen, which we sold a few months ago. I have this dream QUITE often. I walked behind the line and I said out loud “Here I am in this dream again.” And then I excitedly said “omg, is this really it, my first lucid dream?!” I saw a creamer cup on the line, so I consciously decided to see if I could pick it up, so I reached for it, and my hand went right through it. Then I did the finger through the hand trick, like you practice when you’re awake, just to make sure. My finger went through my palm. Then I said, this is so cool, and I walked right through the counters on the other side of the line. We used to have stairs leading up to my Nanas apartment in the back of the kitchen back in the 90’s before we renovated, so I hadn’t seen them in forever, so I figured now that I was dreaming, I’d have an opportunity to choose to go up the stairs! I was really excited, so I started walking towards them and BAM! I woke up. I tried so hard to fall back asleep instantly, but it didn’t work. It seemed like it was only a few minutes, but it wasn’t scary at all- it was exciting and almost calming to be back in that kitchen again. Does anyone know if that would be considered a lucid dream?? And if so, how I can play off of that experience to become better at them and stay asleep longer? Thanks loves. ❤️
