Spider

I dreamt that I was in my own home, but it didn’t look the same. My room was identical but the staircase was tall with glass barriers overlooking the bottom floor. I was watching tv with my sister and I’m sure my mother was there too. I took no notice of what was on the television. I went into my room to close my curtains for the night and what I saw confused me at first. I saw my sunglasses hanging mid air below my curtain rail. It was strange. It was then that I realised what was puppeteering my sunglasses. A spiders web. My heart sunk and then, he appeared. Slowly propelling himself up towards a landing on the rail. Terror ran over me and I began to weep. Calling for my mother, she came running and was struck with the same fear that had struck me. The spider began to expand as his legs elongated revealing his true enormous size. Fly spray wouldn’t fix this dilemma. He was powerful and fast. He won this battle. As I slowly drift out of my nocturnal state I looked up at my curtain rail, thankful not to be greeted by the frightful creature that tormented my dream.
