The Worst Star Wars Moment Ever

I am watching Star Wars Episode 8. Darth Vader is somehow still alive and currently in a lightsaber duel with a Jedi. The Jedi spins with his lightsaber, slicing Vader clean in two. Vader's sith powers allow his body to join back together ready to fight again. Immediately I think this plot development is totally unbelievable and terrible, but also wonder if this means that Darth Maul managed to survive his similar fate in Episode One.
