American Idol

I was a contestant on American Idol. Young me, at least... I had to do my final performance behind a curtain, though, because they couldn't have the piano on-stage. So I got on the mic to say that it sucked not to be able to see everyone. Then, instead of a piano, I had this tiny keyboard that I could barely make chords on because I wasn't used to the size of the keyboard. Apparently I was a front-runner. I hated my performance but got a great response from the audience and I started to feel a little optimistic. But when they called the winners, someone else came in 2nd place, and the person who was "supposed" to win from the original projections, won. He was like the obnoxious teenage heartthrob. I was obviously disappointed but I turned up the guy who helped me with the piano and said, "But you know what's crazy? ALL of us now have a fan club SOMEWHERE," and that made him smile.
