Your Gun's Better Than My Gun

My crime solving partner and I have chased our perpetrator to a small child's bedroom. It's very creepy with many eerie dolls about the place. The ceiling has access to an attic room. We climb up and I confront the criminal. I shoot him many times, but my gun seems terribly underpowered. He still stands threateningly with minor wounds. I grab my partner's gun and shoot him again, this time the weapon taking lethal effect, killing the man instantly
