Strange hatchling

I was with a group of people I don't know in real life and we were in a big, abandoned mall goofing off. I had a small animal in my hands that looked like a baby bird or dinosaur hatchling. It wasn't doing well so I coated it in some sticky stuff that was supposed to help it get better. I put the little thing in my pocket and continue running around the place acting up and such. A while later I remember the little animal and check on it only to realize I put the wrong goo on it and it was dying and shrinking, now half the size it was. I tell my friends and they tell me that I've just been carrying around pistachio shells this whole time. I yell that they are wrong and offer the animal for them to see and when I look it's just pistachio shells. I still believed the animal was real and my mistake with the goo was fatal. Then I woke up
