On a quest to find 'smiles'

I was told by a deep voice - that sounded mighty like God - that everything in this world has a smile. I took this quite literally. I started to walk around looking for smiles. I went outside and started rattling around in the trees, in search for smiles. In the end, I picked up a twig and to my surprise it smiled right at Mrs Meanwhile, two girls were taking selfies behind me as if I wasn't some crazy women rustling through the bushes. Next scene; I was controlling the DVD player from the other room, which really annoyed my kids. I kept putting classic dvds on that I used to watch as a kid - Honey I shrunk the kids being one.
