Chased by alligator, disappearing shoes

Jason and I were staying at Dixie and Beau's while they were out of the house. I went out to the back yard just as the sun was setting and realized there was a swampy river back there. I wandered around for a bit and noticed an alligator just as it noticed me and started hissing. I yelped and took off running as it chased after me. I noticed a neighboring house had a back door cracked open so I ran inside and to the nearest bedroom. The alligator was still coming after me so I looked up and noticed there were some pipes and boards suspended across exposed beams. I pulled myself up by the pipes and laid across the boards while the little shit hissed beneath me. I was shaking and sweating profusely but eventually I fell asleep and somehow Jason found me. In my groggy state I forgot about being chased and he helped me come down from the rafters and we laid down on the bed in that room and slept hard. In the wee hours of the morning, I heard rustling and everything from the night before came flooding back so I jerked Jason awake, asking if he had shut the door outside. Before he could answer, a deer ran into the bedroom and headbutted me! It was young and didn't have any horns but still it freaked me out and I tried to shove it away. From the corner of my eye I could see several animals peeking at us down the hall, like a raccoon, bear and rabbit. At that moment I heard people talking, and the animals ran off as a group of roommates came in demanding to know what was going on. I explained everything to them and asked if they knew our friends. They said yes and I started to put my shoes on. We continued talking while I was pulling my converse on, and I started to realize that every time I got one shoe on, my other foot was barefoot. It was like each time I switched feet my shoe popped off the other foot. At first I didn't say anything because I thought I was just delirious and in shock over the whole thing but when my feet were both bare after I was absolutely positive I had put both damn shoes on, I finally just grabbed my shoes and said we were going to leave. I guess I had run further from our friends house than I realized, because we couldn't figure out where the hell their place was. It didn't help that suddenly there was like a boardwalk going along the swamp and there were people everywhere playing music and selling stuff. It looked like a little street festival in Louisiana or something. At one point Jason and I got separated and I got sucked into different shenanigans while trying to find him; there were stilts propped up against a little balcony I found myself on. They were like ladders that could stand on their own, so I carefully climbed down them and then walked around on the stilts for a while, entertaining people but really just looking for Jason. At one point I think I passed my mom, and I was too surprised to think about asking her to call Jason's phone. She was watching people fish for crawdads and it was gross.
