I don't remember a lot of stuff from before this, but I ended up with someone (who I'm pretty sure was just Blix but we didn't know each other) in each other's arms, clutching each other and starting to weep as the gravity of the situation was really setting in: everyone else was gone. We didn't know what had been happening to folks, but we knew something scary was going on and we'd been trying to hide/shelter and stay safe. Our group had been a lot bigger not long before, but somehow we'd lost them all. It seemed pretty clear that we were next, and that hope was limited to whatever optimism we could find about what might happen to us after we went as well. In a somewhat quiet moment, I wandered into another room. I heard something from outside, so I crept over to a window and tried to peer out without being too visible. I heard voices of children and a man. Shortly, a man and two children passed by the window, each riding a horse that was fuzzy like those Scottish fuzzy cows lol. I thought that was cute and went to find my happenstance companion to tell them about it. When I returned to where I'd come from, we were outside. I can't remember if I told Blix, but I think there was now a boy on a horse that we felt charged with keeping safe? Or maybe he was just there. We started to walk away (lol), when something--a noise, a feeling, I'm not sure--caused us to turn around. Blix said something like "he's glowing!" I couldn't see it at first, but as I continued focusing, I eventually realized he was a bit illuminated, and becoming moreso. Then it became clear where the light was coming from: a vertical beam stretching into the sky became visible to me as the scene slowly darkened. The child's head began tilting back as the light shined brighter. Once his eyes met the source, I saw his body begin to rise off of the horse's back. I can't remember if my heart sank or my stomach dropped or my breath cut off, but my eyes were telling me a very alarming story: something with powers beyond our comprehension was taking people into the sky. Then it happened fast. The child's arms, legs, and head swung back as his torso pressed forward in the air. I can't remember what senses were assaulted--maybe a loud sound, maybe a flash, maybe a shockwave--as I watched the child shoot upward into the sky. Everything seemed much darker now and my colorvision had seemingly been reduced to almost black and white. I screamed, and ran, but my emotions didn't feel as intense as it seemed they should. It was almost as if I was acting? There was a ton of chaos and commotion around me, and I couldn't keep track of what was around me, it was as if things were disappearing and reappearing, or parts of my vision were going black then returning. I realized I should go find Blix, so I turned around and started running toward where we'd been and where the child had ascended. For some reason there were tons of rabbits and I think some deer that were running all over the place that I had to avoid. Also the rabbits were extremely variable in size, from regular rabbit size up to the size of the deer. I dodged the forest creatures as I was being blinded now by a pair of bright headlights shining toward me from where I'd come. I couldn't see anything but the lights and the rabbits.
