Disappearing Footage

I've found an old VHS tape from the 90s. I scan through it and find some amusing footage of friend Stuart C as a toddler. I message him on WhatsApp saying I'll send him the footage. However, when I try to go to the correct place on the video tape, it no longer seems to be there anymore. The digital display on the machine showed 1hr4secs when I saw him, but no matter how many times I check this time, it isn't there.
