I’m at what’s supposed to be one of our dinners with Brody’s brothers — in a house I don’t recognize — when Peyton announces that they’re moving to North Carolina. I’m momentarily stunned because she just said (in real life) that she’d never want to live there again. I feel weirdly hollow as I say, “Well, I guess we kind of saw this coming.” (In real life, we’ve all discussed the possibility of them moving to South Carolina.) She then turns to me and says, “Yeah, so we’ll have to borrow your van.” I’m confused as to why she thinks she can just tell me she’s taking my vehicle, but casually approve this. Later on, I’m clearing things out of the van as she and Brody stand in the frame of the open trunk. I look up at her and say, “So, how long is your trip?” to which she responds, “A little under a week!” Internally, I’m very put out by how presumptuous she’s being and say to Brody, “So, what am I going to do for the week — just not have a car?” He then tells me that he’s finally getting the SUV from Buppa (which, in real life, has been in the works for months). I’m surprised and, upon hearing this, a little less annoyed.
