My Abused Friend

I dreamt that I was at someone's house (that was supposed to be mine in the dream). People were going in and out, so I walked out on the front porch. My mother-in-law pulled her car up, and held onto a girl who was clearly shaken up. It was my best friend from childhood, Sarah. She had light blonde hair, blue eyes, and white skin. I noticed a big bruise across her face, and some cuts underneath it. She apologized for having no other place to go, and said "he'll find me though, I know he's coming." I quickly gathered her bag and held onto her arm so I could find her somewhere safe. We climbed around piles of junk, and clutter from the people that were staying at my house. Finally, we reached a room upstairs with a bed. I told her to sit down and relax. She thanked me, and fell silent. All she would tell me is how mad "he" was when she left. (I knew it was her husband Justin), even though she was in denial and wouldn't say his name. Apparently her son's were still with him, or the dream took place before they had them. Anyway, I left her so she could sleep. I made sure she was covered up, before I went back downstairs. After awhile, I heard her screaming "HE'S HERE!" and some of the other people went running upstairs. I caught Sarah with the phone in her hand, and he was standing at the door that led to a roof top balcony. Apparently she called him! I was so angry. He walked back into a wall when I went outside to confront him. I could hear Sarah crying "no!" But with all the rage I had built up from seeing her abused, I couldn't hold back. He was laughing nervously, while I looked him in the eyes and told him to "leave, right now." I told him I wasn't afraid of him like she was. At that point all kinds of people were standing around us. It just a matter of a second, his eyes went black and he growled "I'll kill you too." Instead of being afraid, I walked up closer and said "DO IT!" He hesitated a minute and smiled at the people then walked off. Another old childhood friend said "He was going to kill you..." my response was "I wish he would've tried, at least he would be sent to jail." I felt like that would be the only way that Sarah would feel safe. The dream ended there.
