The Hotel

Al and I were staying in a hotel. It was large and fairly nice. I seemed to remember that it was snowing outside, so we cdnt have been in Florida... Vincent ran this hotel ( the nasty nasty man that ran a hotel Al and I had stayed in for a while about a year ago ). He showed us to our room and handed me a nice red & white 3-wick candle. I thanked him, and once in our room, I lit it. Over the course of the next couple days, Al and I went about our business. I checked out the hotel and found it had a library in it. There were also different rooms for ppl to party in. There was an 80's themed room, an anime themed room, I remember thinking I was glad there was a punk themed room that maybe Al and I could check out sometime. Looking outside through a large window, I saw a few cops getting out of their cop cars. The lights were flashing. As they walked through the doors and came inside, they pointed and called out to me. I took off! I ran to our room and told Al to get his things and run! I said I would meet him outside. There was something I had to do first. I ran around the hotel, until I ran straight into Vincent. He is the one I was looking for. I ask why. He says, "You know, I was hoping to be able to throw you guys in jail! I was going to tell the cops that you stole my property and used it all up ( the candle )! But when I brought it up, the cops just said, "Tourists always think they can just use everything in the room! But since it *was* in the hotel room, we can't do anything about it. There's no law against simply being rude guests!" Again, I ask, "But WHY?? What did we do to you??" He said, "You acted like you could fix anything! You told me you could fix my problems!" I interrupted and said, "No! I said only YOU can fix your problems, but that we would be there for you to HELP, if you wanted it!" "Yeah yeah, whatever". "What did we do to make you hate us so much?!" Finally he broke down and told us the truth. "Fine! Okay! You were too nice! Alright?! It isn't natural to be so nice! There had to be something wrong with you!" I asked, "That's it? We were just too nice to you?" He said yeah. I gave him a hug and made my way out of the hotel.
