The One Where I Bail on the Worship Team

My mom and Andie have convinced me to do a worship set. I’m getting ready to go out when I realize that I’m terrified to do this even if I only have to do frontline. I decide to leave before anything starts … I’m in a kitchen somewhere with my mom, Renee, and someone else. Across the room, I see a Filipino maid cleaning the countertops. My mom looks at her and says, “Can I have a Coke with ice?” I’m immediately annoyed at how entitled she’s acting. I shake my head and say, “Why can’t you get it yourself?” She acts like she doesn’t know what I’m referring to, and I’m glad to see that the maid seems not to have even heard her as she continues to clean … Renee and I are floating around in a pool. I get the feeling that she’s annoyed with me, so I give her some space. I think about a Shakira music video which apparently involved her floating on an upside down lounger in a pool.
