Kitchen Elves

I was dealing with a tragedy in my life that had driven me to the point of tears. It had been bothering me for a while and I was aimlessly wandering through my house in the dark more frequently. One night as I was walking through the house, tears running down my face, I noticed a delightful smell coming from the kitchen. As I walked closer to the source, I could tell that it was not only baked goods, but also meats and vegetables being prepared. I was very confused as there was no noise nor light coming from the kitchen.. I opened the door and suddenly the entire room illuminated, revealing many elves (shorter than the average teenager). They were all slender with long hair and pale skin like someone or something that lives in the dark. They had yellow cat eyes that glowed when you stared into them for long enough and their voices were fair and soft. Their garments were pale green and blue and varied in style. They immediately noticed me as I walked through the door and hurried closer to welcome me and show me what they had prepared. I could barely hear their bare feet walking across the tile floor. The first thing they showed me were a freshly made batch of brownies in which they led my hand. I picked one up and it started to melt in my hand. Suddenly their calm demeanor changed into a hostile one as they turned their heads toward me. Their eyes, glaring straight through me, changed from soft amber to a glowing blood red. I went from being embraced by kindness and warmth to being an impostor. The elf nearest me, the tallest and fairest of them all, addressed my in a soft voice at first. She asked me if I am sad, to which I responded with a simple "yes". Before I could continue to explain, she and the rest of the elves started screeching in a shrill voice that one would associate with a banshee. The illumination disappeared and the only light came from their eyes as they dragged me out of the kitchen and into the hallway from where I came initially. When I got up, I noticed the smell was gone. I walked back to the kitchen to see if I were hallucinating the whole experience. As I opened the door, the kitchen illuminated, the elves were sitting on the counters, turned their heads so their red eyes met my gaze, immediately screeched at me with the same hostility as before until I left. I headed straight to bed. After that, the dream turned into a montage. I was obviously still sad for a while and over time it got better. The elves were there to stay and they did not allow me in the kitchen on days where I was sad. When I was happy, they rewarded me with delicious food of my choosing. Things continued like this until I woke up.
