I was invited to this old house with some others but, what I didn’t know, was that the place was haunted. We were looking after this baby, who was now fast asleep in this rickety old crib, when we started hearing these loud noises. This freaky voice came through the baby monitor, but I couldn’t quite work out what it was saying. We were petrified and all clung to each other like scared little lambs. One of the more brave people in the group, went to check on the baby. She was gone for awhile and we were beginning to get concerned, so went in search for her. We found her in one of the bedrooms, minus a hand. Had the baby bitten it off? I wasn’t sure. He seemed to be fast asleep in his crib. She was screaming in pain, holding up the bleeding stump that would have been her hand. “We’ve got to get out of here!” I screamed. We all bolted for the door (baby in tow) but the door was locked and would not budge. We all looked at each other, horror etched into our eyes. “We’re never going to get out of this place.” I thought, sadly. Next scene; I was at the hospital trying to find the A&E. I can’t for the life of me remember why I was heading there, but I needed to be there. I was getting annoyed because people kept getting in my way. One man on a mobility scooter almost ran over my innocent toes. After walking for a while, I realised I was completely lost (I hate hospitals... this always happens!) suddenly this young(ish) woman and two colleagues walked by. I overheard them saying that they were heading to the A&E department. “Brilliant!” I thought, following closely behind like some kind of stalker. As I did so, I was listening in to their conversation. The young woman was blabbing on about how she used to be a psychologist but now she is a nurse. I felt a pang of envy at her achievements at such a young age. She was probably younger than I was. Ridiculously beautiful too. The group started to ascend some strairs. “Is it this way to A&E?” I asked. They looked at me blankly. “No,” the pretty woman replied, it’s a few miles that way.” She added, pointing in the opposite direction. I was beyond pissed off. Next scene; I was walking down the river when I passed this strange man on his bike who was cycling in slow motion and seemed to be in his own little world. I stopped to ask him if he was okay, but he stared blankly ahead as he continued to cycle at a snails pace. “Some weird folk around here.” I said to my mum. “Shh!” She whispered. We walked on and came across this junk shop. It was open to the public so we walked in and started browsing through all the glorious junk. I was looking for a mirror for the garden. One of those that looks like a window and creates the illusion of a bigger space. There were so many to choose from, I didn’t know where to start. I was getting in the zone, when this guy came over and told me not to touch the mirrors (Covid 19 and all that). I stopped browsing and stepped away. “Nope, this just isn’t the same!” I moaned to my mum. Next scene; I was on a train. It was cramped and there was nowhere to sit. (I hate trains also. Bloody awful things!) I took a seat next to this lady. She turned around and smiled at me. I noticed that this wasn’t just any lady, she was Emily Blunt (Actress - Girl on the train, ironically!) I wanted to make a lame joke about it, but instead I played ignorant and didn’t say a word.
