The One With the Nickname Change

I’m texting Jaycie about her babies when she tells me that they’re going to call Emilia “Mia” instead of “Emmy.” I feel my face getting hot as I panic, thinking that this will be even more disappointing for Blane and Brianna, who had considered using this name and nickname themselves. I turn to Brianna — we seem to be on the back porch of a house that feels like Jeff Crytzer’s parents’ place — and start trying to explain this, but I’m so nervous that I can’t get the words out. I can feel myself awkwardly smiling but can’t seem to stop.
