Shipwrecked on an island

So I was shipwrecked on this island and we climbed to the top and found a guy there. He said he’s the only one that lives on the island after he was shipwrecked here too. I walked around the structure he had sort of built. The island was very steep and very tall, like a volcano but covered in trees and boulders so it was hard to get around. I discovered the man was lying though as we found more people on the island. It baffled me as to why he would lie and I went for a swim in the water.
