The One With All the Tiny Stuff

I’m at what’s supposed to be Christina’s house (it actually looks more like the backyard and Jack and Diane’s house) for swim lessons. For some reason, Mrs. Jacque is sitting on a couch that’s been pushed against the wall of the house. Someone — not realizing who she is — starts talking about Doug and Phillip and I feel sick to my stomach. Mrs. Jacque gets up and hugs me and starts talking about how I’ve always been a good girl and that she’s proud of me. I’m uncomfortable. She says something comparing me to Jordyn and I say, “Well, she’s missing out… because I met Santa and he’s very nice.” As Christina walks into the pool area, she says something about how Andie is coming. I assume she means Andie McQuitty because that’s the only Andie we could both theoretically know since she goes to Journey. At some point, several dozen people — all adults — show up and circle around the pool. Another woman gets up to give us some kind of aerobics lessons. One of the other people attending this — a tall, thin, seemingly gay black guy with glasses — comes up behind me and starts moving me like a puppet. I laugh until everyone except me and two other — less flamboyantly — gay black guys chat with the instructor about how their friend is on Broadway … I’m helping Gary and Kailyn with some sort of class project we’re all supposed to be working on. I’ve given Kailyn the template I made but she can’t figure out how to replicate my font. I tell her I can figure this out from her and take the laptop she’s carrying. At some point, I end up sitting at a cafeteria style table with her and Gary. The lights go out as Gary tells me he wants his nails painted red. I try to decide if this is something Kailyn would be into or not as I let him look through a Nexgen color book. The lights come back on and I see that he’s picked out two orangey reds. He says he can’t decide which one, so I lean over the table next to him to help him decide. He gets entirely too close to me and I make some kind of joke about how we don’t need to be this close together as I hand him a Mini Brands-sized candle. Kailyn laughs as this as she eats ice cream with a Mini Brands-sized bowl and spoon.
