Into the Woods

This is a true story and also a dream I had last night from when i was younger. When I was like 10 my mornings were the same. Pretty much. Like on weekdays I'd be laying in bed awake not wanting to get up bc of school but weekends, I would be up at 7. I'd do my bathroom business, wash hands, brush teeth. Then I'd get some cereal and start playing a video game. Oh, I should mention. I liked being alone as a kid more. When I was with people I was reserved, alone my imagination ran wild. Sticks were swords, a bike was a race car, whatever. So! One morning I decided....there's an area I wanted to explore. Up our street there was a factory and behind it was a pond with a trail leading off of it. So I left and headed there alone and on foot. I even brought these notebook paper maps we drew of the areas around the house. I wanted to map the trail. I get a pretty good ways into the woods following this trail with a creek besside it until I see this small shack thing. I drew some check points so I could make it back. I get home and everyone is up now but doesn't say anything bc me heading out alone to explore was normal by now. I told my brother about what I found, showed the map and then shortly after I think someone had come over so we decided to wait and not say anything about it. We waited till after church the next day. I grabbed our map and we started at the same trail. I made notes and stuff to find this place easy and when we made it we talked for like ten mins quietly about if we should check it out. Eventually we walk up side by side and he pulls the door a bit hard and it opens about an inch and a half or two inches and we realize...this is latched and locked...from the inside..... We ran off about...idk...30 yards? Enough where we could crouch but still see the shack thing and he says...dont run let's just fast walk so we dont make much noise. We waited a few mins and.....nothing. I said when we leave I'm not coming back and he said okay then let's get one last closer look. So we did. The door....had been pulled shut again. Forget fast walking, we took off. After we made it over halfway home we decided not to go back into the woods. 2 things happened after that. 1. We never talked about that again and 2. We never entered the woods again.
