Stephanie was driving a car in circles around an elevated roadway. She was in a mood and I told hercto slow down. We struck 3 cars, but we’re able to keep driving. She misjudged her speed on a turn and left the road. We crashed into the roof of a house. We almost struck the woman living there. She was sitting at a table writing. I started apologizing, but she didn’t seem bothered. I suddenly realized she was a famous author (I can’t remember who, maybe Joan Didion, but she was young). She was slightly concerned that we might reveal who she was because she was living there under an assumed name and trying to get away for a while. I assured her we would keep the secret. She was very cool about everything. I was kind of awestruck that I was getting to meet this person. I started cleaning her apartment. I spent a lot of time picking up glass and then trying to find a vacuum cleaner. I tried to wash some dirty clothes I had, but the laundry room had multiple devices that either didn’t work or took money and I had no money.
