The One Where I’m Breaking & Entering

I’m sitting on a high fence that’s, for some reason, in someone’s kitchen. I’m on the phone with my dad, who’s supposed to be meeting me to play catch. I lower myself onto the floor, but see a young boy out of the corner of my eye. Before I can do anything, a woman appears and tells me that the cops are going to come get me for breaking and entering. I immediately start crying as I try to explain myself. I go on about every bad thing that’s happened to me over the past few days and then mention that I was going to an FAU football game because I used to go there. At some point, I realize I’m using some sort of light Hispanic accent. I promise the woman that I wasn’t going to take any of her things and that I didn’t mean to scare anyone. Her whole family ends up in the kitchen, and one of her sons — who is black, although the rest of the family is Latino — takes my hand. I notice how soft his hands are.
