DOOM, Trust

I think I was in some sort of weird academy, the facility was so insane I don't even know how to describe it, I feel like the best I can think of is it was kinda like an oldschool DOOM or Quake level, just corridors and lifts and weirdly shaped rooms. I don't remember what the conditions for this were, but sometimes you'd go into a room and some kind of creature or monster would get released for you to fight. Somehow I ended up going through a ton of rooms and doors and corridors and ended up in increasingly weird situations, like at one point I just jumped into this race between some creatures along a bunch of narrow paths between pools of lava. I felt like I was getting close to some sort of objective or secret. I guess I failed at some point because I ended up back at the main part of the academy with my cohort. I realized I could team up with one person to do this. I asked my best friend there, but she said no. I think my other friend(s?) also said no. Then I decided I would ask my instructor, but I couldn't remember how to recognize her. When I finally figured out who she was from context, I couldn't remember her name lol. I finally figured that out too (it was Nina), and even tho she was chillin right there on a bed, I tried to @ her, but it wasn't working lol. I don't think I ever managed to ask her. At another point, someone turned on a movie part way through, it was following Woody Harrelson, but I don't remember what was going on. Eventually he encountered a wise old Matthew Mcconaughey, and I was like "oh yeah Matthew Mcconaughey is the main character in this!" At yet another point, we're all at a beach, it's packed with people, lounging, swimming.. instead of a shore, though, it's like some huge multilevel pier situation. I was heading down to the water and Jacob's mom made some nonsense "joke." I didn't know what to say so I just smiled and moved on lol. Then I dropped my shorts in the ocean and they started to sink. Big T offered his condolences with a nervous laugh. I jumped in to try to swim down and grab them, but they were disappearing into the dark depths. I decided not to pursue them. A hand extended down into the water from above; I figured it was Big T's, but I was reluctant to take it for some reason. Then I realized I couldn't really will myself to move at all.. I put all my effort toward getting myself to reach out and grab the hand. I think I maybe finally started doing that, but idk if I made it back up.
