The One With the Hairdresser’s Assistant

I’m sitting on the couch in my parents’ living room with a couple people (can’t remember who) and a little blonde girl who looks to be about two years old. She snuggles up against me as we watch a movie, and I think about how I’m glad kids seem to like me … I’m rearranging an indoor bar fridge. I think about how Brody’s not going to be able to find anything now … I’m getting my hair done when I’m made to stand with my head in a weird contraption that seems to be some sort of dryer. A young Hispanic guy comes over to me and mimes some sort of instructions to me that I realize are tips for me to dry my hair faster and more effectively. He hands me a cutting board and smiles. I put a hand on his face and say, “You’re so sweet!” He looks embarrassed. Just then, the hairdresser — who might be my mom, just much taller — turns to check on me hair. She looks serious and bored … I’m sitting in a restaurant with my mom when she tells me that Renee has to go to Lauren’s birthday party. I realize she means Lauren Bohrer and find this funny because they haven’t seen each other in years.
