The President of Europe (which I’m pretty sure in the dream was just one big country) was coming to visit, and my mother arranged a ballet to welcome him. The ballet was about Europe and America coming together, and at the end the President and I, representing our respective countries (I guess Europe was a country) would come out and do a dance together. I have no experience in ballet at all, but for some reason I wasn’t nervous, and I was only worried about him doing his part. The ballet was performed in a big, nondescript room with gray walls and a linoleum tile floor. There was no stage and the house was just a bunch of folding chairs. The dancers just performed straight on the tile, and when they went offstage they just sat down in plain view of the audience—there was no backstage to speak of. The backstage dancers all lined up by the entrance to the “stage” before the rousing final number, which involved the entire cast. I realized that was about to happen and came over (I had been sitting in the audience) and got in line. Then I noticed the President of Europe was asleep in his front-row seat. I whisper-yelled “Europe!” over and over again, which eventually got his attention. I was in my living room, there appeared to be a party going on, and I was talking to Noni, who in the dream was the President of Europe’s wife. She said she had hated watching her husband dance, and she was sorry I had to be his partner. Apparently the dance had already ended. I felt sad that I had missed it, even though according to Noni I had been there. I told her the President wasn’t that bad of a dancer.
