Quest

I’m on a quest in a surreal world. I gather items to help me and put them in a satchel I carry slung across my body. For a long time I have nothing. It seems like I’ve done this before and didn’t complete the quest and now I’m trying to find things I’d previously found. Some of the items I’m trying to find are little stone squares with etchings on them which seem to be imbued with magic or have some other purpose. Sometimes it seems like someone is with me, or at least there’s someone I talk to. For a while I proceed as if this is just some fun game, but I start to realize there is real danger involved. I encounter people/beings that at first I think are trying to help me, but I realize they have a sinister purpose. I spend a long time in a maze type area with small abandoned structures that seem like they were made for small beings or dolls. I go on my hands and knees to go inside them and feel around for items. I don’t find much. I open the door to one structure and see some sort of hole that if you fall into you will be trapped falling, but bizarrely falling in the same spot on some sort of infinite loop. The hole is some sort of aberration in space/time that distorts the image of anything falling into it. I reach into the hole and grab someone’s hand and pull a man out who has been stuck. He agrees to make me a key that can be used to open different types of doors. I approach two narrow storefronts that are connected on one side. Both have stairs leading up. I choose the left storefront and walk up the stairs. There’s a gated landing at the top of the stairs with a young man walking around the gate who tells me the store is closed. I decide I don’t care if they’re closed or not and ask if they have an item I’m looking for.
