Changing puppy

Was at working getting bread. There was a guy yelling in spanish and he had a tiny puppy with him. I was staring at the puppy it was so cute. Then a doc came and the puppy changed from a pit bull to a small white puppy. The vet had a weird looking shot and told the puppy it was time to go. I thought the shot was just to put it to sleep but when he got the shot he flopped over and looked dead. My heart sank. I then tried to finish getting bread but my hand and the bread towel kept getting stuck to the warmer. It didn't burn my hand which was weird. Also they had 4 things of soup and none were hot.
