Hurt dog

I dreamt that the sensor lights turned on in my backyard and I waited to see if there was somebody there. A dog comes out and it’s limping and trying to kill itself. I catch it and put it inside, offering it some food. She is aggressive at first but after food she calms down and let’s me pat her. I put her in the bathroom where she can’t harm herself. A lady comes to my house and protests that I haven’t gone to the vet yet and tries to take her. So my mum takes her to the vet. She gets back and says the leg is fine, and everything is fixed but she still probably only has a couple months left to live. We let her stay with us.
