Well I think I know where most of the themes came from in this dream, I had been playing "the stanley parables" (deluxe edition) with a friend the day before. I also just so happened to be the one who completed the playthroughs that included the bucket of reassurance, including one where the narrator "quizzed" me on what is, and what is not, a bucket. After which the narrator of the game gets confused and thinks everything is a bucket. So the dream starts with me being in the wreckage of a really big apartment building (well big building at least, I assume it was an apartment building), and I run into my older brother Curtis there. I don't remember what we talked about now, but I remember us both saying to be careful not to fall or get hurt, or something like that, to each other. After that I was in the apartment building before it had fallen down/blown up. At least I am pretty sure it's the same building. There are three things I remember most about inside the building. First, I remember that there were holes all over the floor, but they weren't holes, they were buckets, sort of. Some even had flowers in them, most (maybe all?) were full of water. I remember one had red tulips. And most of them were covered up by things, I found them because I stepped through something into one. Although the building was intact, it was very cluttered. The second thing I remember is that my roommate (Mike) was there, and apparently that was OUR apartment building... He wouldn't let me leave the apartment. (In the past i have had controlling roommates and friends, but he is still my roommate specifically because he never tries to pull that shit, and I just can't seem to live with other girls) I was surprised by this behavior... until he explained to me that the reason was because there was someone looking for me outside the building, and they wanted to kill me. Not hurt me, KILL me. I remember he said either, that it was someone he had pissed off who decided to get even by getting me, or that it was someone that I had pissed off... but I can't entirely remember which it was. The last thing I remember vividly, was when I stepped out onto our balcony, I realized that our entire apartment building was INSIDE another building. It felt eerie. As though there was either no world beyond that, just the (now broken) illusion of one... or that there was a world beyond us still, but that we were trapped in that building, and being watched/monitored by someone or something. So yeah... i blame the game Stanley parables for this dream. Great game though, I'll give it that.
AI generated interpretation It's interesting to see how your dream was influenced by your recent experience with playing "The Stanley Parable." In the game, there are themes of confusion, perception, and control, which seem to manifest in your dream as well. The setting of the dream, the wreckage of a large apartment building, can symbolize a sense of chaos or destruction in your waking life. This could represent feelings of instability or uncertainty about a particular situation. The appearance of your older brother, Curtis, may signify a need for guidance or support during this challenging time. The buckets scattered throughout the building may represent hidden emotions or unresolved issues that you have yet to address. The fact that some of the buckets contain flowers and water could symbolize growth or renewal amid the chaos. However, the cluttered and confined nature of the building suggests that these emotions or issues are being suppressed or ignored. Your interaction with your roommate, Mike, who prevents you from leaving the apartment, could reflect feelings of being controlled or restricted in some aspect of your life. This may stem from past experiences with controlling individuals, as you mentioned. The threat of someone wanting to harm you in the dream could symbolize underlying fears or anxieties that you may be grappling with. The revelation that your apartment building is inside another building adds a layer of complexity to the dream. This could represent feelings of being trapped or confined within a certain mindset or situation. The sense of being watched or monitored suggests a feeling of being scrutinized or judged by others. Overall, this dream seems to reflect a mixture of confusion, control, and vulnerability in your subconscious mind. It may be helpful to reflect on any current challenges or emotional struggles you are facing in your waking life and consider how you can address and work through them. Additionally, exploring ways to assert your autonomy and navigate through difficult situations may help alleviate any feelings of being trapped or restricted.
