My mum's dog 'Tia' had raided the alcohol cabinet and was rather drunk. She tumbled onto the floor and my mum needed to pump her stomach. She wasn't quite the same after that, her body was paralysed and she could only move her head. My mum put her in a baby sling and was carrying her around like a baby. We knew her days were limited and I feared that my mum would be distraught. But, instead, she was telling this lady about the cruise she was going to go on (when her dog does kick the bucket) and how excited she was about it. I was a little bit taken aback. "But you love this dog!" I thought.
