Few days ago. Had a dream where i was playing some strange game. Or at least, I remember it felt mostly like a game. But at points it felt like it was serious, as though we were actually being hunted, or I was. So maybe it was a nightmare and my brain decided it should be more fun? Most of my dreams, by definition, are nightmares, but most of them I do not consider scary. So that's par for the course, for me anyhow. I remember having a teammate, sort of. They didn't actually seem to be part of the game, and now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who could see and hear them. I do not remember who they were, what they looked or sounded like. Don't even know what gender they were ... I thought they were a girl too at first, but realized I have no real reason to believe so. I just don't remember who they were, I do remember they felt familiar, and I felt safe with them... had to have been an old friend of mine then, I suppose, maybe my oldest brother... more likely a friend. So the game, or whatever it was, was very similar to hide and seek... kinda mixed with a real life prop hunt. Don't know a better way to describe it (but NOT like the dream with Kyle). I was up against one other person. And we had some sort of cloaking device, similar to what predator uses in the movies. The point of the game, was one of us would hide using the cloaking technology, and the other had to find them. Though, I don't actually remember ever being the seeker... it wasn't always my turn to hide, I know that they hid every time they found me, and soon it would be my turn to hide again... but I was never a seeker. It felt more like the dreams I have where I am in an old friend's house, alone, and suddenly their family members start to come home, and at first no one knows I'm there, or can even see me, so I either try to slip out the door, or get distracted and forget, and just start doing something else somewhere in their house... all to eventually be visible, whether it's by the door, out front, or in a random room in their home. It had that feeling. And almost like the other one hiding... was training me to hide in plain sight. I think maybe it felt like that, because every time they found me, they would explain what I should be doing differently. I don't remember anything specific, I just remember they were teaching me. But I also remember an anxiety rising, that I only had so many practice runs... and eventually if I was found, advice would not be what I received. That's the part that makes me wonder if it was a nightmare. For no apparent reason, it became evident to me, that I would be hunted, and I needed to learn to do it right before that happened. And whoever was with me was supportive, but unaffected by what was happening, especially considering I was the only one who knew someone else was even with me. I think the hunter/hider training me was a male. But I'm not entirely sure... they kind of had a playful side too, but the other hunter/hider was definitely taking it all more seriously from the start. I don't think I was supposed to figure out that it was more than a game. Maybe that's why it was so hard to tell/remember whether it was scary or fun... because it was both. Also I remember moving in the dream was weird... like the dreams I have with weird looped hallways, where you have to go the wrong way to go the right way, and if you don't, you end up in an even bigger loop maze... where you have to remember all the right ways to go, as well as how to go the wrong way, so that you end up going the right way. God why is my brain so strange sometimes... well, all brains. That's all I remember. Oh, except, at one point, I'm pretty sure the other hunter/hider confirmed that it would only be practice for so long... and it would get more dangerous... but that wasn't the way they said it. Still at some point, the other hunter/hider wanted me to know, I wouldn't always be safe.
AI generated interpretation Your dream seems to reflect a mix of playful and ominous elements, creating a sense of uncertainty and tension throughout the narrative. The game you were playing, which involved a cloak-and-seek component, symbolizes a hidden aspect of yourself or a situation that you are trying to navigate. The presence of a teammate, who feels familiar and safe, could represent a source of support or guidance in your waking life. The feeling of being hunted or pursued in the dream may signify underlying anxieties or fears that are manifesting in your subconscious mind. The idea of training and being taught by the other hunter/hider suggests a need for self-improvement or readiness to face challenges in your life. The sense of only having limited practice runs before it becomes more dangerous may reflect a perceived deadline or pressure in waking life. The dream's depiction of strange and disorienting movement, such as the looped hallways and maze-like navigation, could symbolize feelings of confusion or being trapped in a repetitive cycle. This may indicate a sense of being unsure about the right path to take or feeling stuck in a particular situation.
